Delete your account

Three ways to do it, and an honest list of what survives.

Alors is the app and website at alorsapp.com, run by an independent developer. Deleting your account removes it and everything attached to it. It happens immediately and cannot be undone — there is no recycle bin and no backup to restore from.

How to do it

In the Android app

1. Open Alors and go to the Account tab.
2. Tap Delete account.
3. Type delete when asked, to confirm you meant it.
4. Tap the confirm button. Your account is gone at that moment.

On the website

1. Sign in at alorsapp.com/signin.html.
2. Go to your account page.
3. Under Delete your account, type delete to confirm.
4. Press Delete permanently. Your account is gone at that moment.

By email, if you cannot sign in

Email 69ingmonkeysdev@gmail.com from the address on the account, with "delete my account" in the subject. It is done the same day. You do not have to give a reason.

What is deleted

All of it, immediately, in one go:

• Your account — the email address and the Google account identifier that signing in stored.
• Everything you submitted — the full text of every piece of writing you sent for marking.
• Every correction and score — the bands, the per-criterion marks, the sentences quoted as evidence, and the suggested fixes, including any marking still in progress.

Retention period: none. These are removed at the moment you confirm, not queued for later deletion, and no copy is kept for a grace period.

What is not deleted, and why

The waitlist is separate. If you gave an email address to the waitlist on the home page, that is not part of your account and deleting the account does not remove it. Email the address above with "privacy" in the subject and it is removed the same day.

Server logs record that requests happened — a timestamp and a count — but never your email address and never anything you wrote.
