Privacy

What's collected, why, who else sees it, and how to make it go away.

Alors is run by an independent developer, not a company. This page describes what the site at alorsapp.com actually does today — not what a product might do later. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What's collected

The score converter runs entirely in your browser. Scores you type are never sent anywhere and are never stored.

Cookies

If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no cookies are set and Google Analytics never loads. Declining changes nothing about how the site works.

Accepting stores one thing on your device — a note that you accepted, so you aren't asked again — plus Google Analytics' own cookies. You can change your mind any time using the Cookie choices link at the bottom of the home page.

Ad tracking is switched off permanently, not by default. Google's ad storage, ad personalisation, and ad user data are set to denied and are never enabled, even if you accept analytics. This site runs no advertising and has no reason to collect anything for it.

Who else processes it

Cloudflare — DNS, and the cookieless visitor statistics. Their privacy policy.
Google — Google Analytics, only after you accept. Their privacy policy.
OVH — the server the site runs on, located in Canada.

Your email address is not shared with any of them. It is stored in a single file on that server and nowhere else. It is not sold, not rented, not passed to a mailing-list provider, and not used for anything other than the one launch email.

How long it's kept

Email addresses — until you ask for removal, or until the launch email has been sent and you haven't signed up, whichever comes first.
Cookieless statistics — retained by Cloudflare on their schedule; they contain nothing that identifies you.
Google Analytics — Google's retention settings apply.

Your rights

Whether you're covered by PIPEDA in Canada, the GDPR in Europe, the UK GDPR, or nothing in particular, the answer here is the same: ask and it happens.

See what's held about you — ask, and you'll get it.
Have it deleted — ask, and it's removed the same day.
Withdraw analytics consent — use the Cookie choices link; no need to email anyone.

Children

This site is aimed at adults preparing for an immigration language exam. It is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If what's collected changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. If a change is significant and you're on the waitlist, you'll be told before it takes effect.
